House Update and Bathroom Ideas

Yet another busy week, but not a lot of busy happening on the house update sadly.

Let’s have a look at the breakdown of the last weeks goings on:

2. what's happened in the last weekSo as you can see, other than a rumour of some searches (no evidence yet, mind) nothing has really advanced at all.  All we seem to have done is filled in forms that we’ve already filled in, and verified our identities which we’ve already done, not really received any word on anything and basically just feel at even more of a stand still.  Even the Estate Agent has apologised for how long everything has taken which is reassuring at least that this isn’t how it’s meant to go, or at least it’s out of the norm with how slow everything is moving, so slow it’s almost going backwards.

So in the meantime, we’ve been playing around with what to do with the rooms, mainly the bathroom at the moment which we’ve had to re-jig as it wasn’t quite the layout we remembered when we visited on friday.

So I decided to make a mood board of our ideas for the bathroom currently, and then we can see how it compares if/when we ever get to own it and make it a physical being.

So there it is, I’ll put links oto everything we’re planning on using and where we’re getting it from just in case anybody get’s inspired! We’re going for slate floors, and having looked at several samples we’re currently leaning towards Peacock Slate as it has a fabulous range of colours within it.  We’re also hoping to have slate on part of the walls, within the shower cubicle and behind the sink as a splash back, for this one we’re leaning towards the Ice White Brick Natural Stone Tiles, as they’re nice and light and also have a wonderful range of colours running through them.

As it’s a rather small space, we’re going to want the toilet to take up as little room as possible, so at the moment I’ve been looking at the short projection toilets from Victoria Plumb like this one, but may also go for a wall backed one – although I haven’t quite worked out how they work or if it would work in our space.

I’m most excited about what we have planned for the sink! I’m currently in love with this Palermo Counter Top Basin, and this high rise tap, which we’re planning to place on top of a railway sleeper. Then hopefully the rest of the walls shall be painted, with something like but not necessarily Dulux Almond White.

Anyway that’s all for now, I’d love to hear any thoughts, how are other people’s house buying/planning experiences going?

Reading the list of things to do can be very stressful when you’re buying a new house. I’m thinking of getting a place of my own by the end of the year. Your posts are a good source of ideas! 🙂
