Sometimes we all need a little inspiration when it comes to creating and crafting – you get the urge to make but you just don’t know quite what to do – we all get it! I was in such a slump lately, I had a new found passion for mixed media but just didn’t really know what to do, so I decided I’d pick a word at random each week and do an Art Journal Page Inspired by that word!
For my first batch I turned to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – because well why wouldn’t you, closed my eyes, opened the book at random and pointed and the first word to be chosen was…..
I’m working in an 8×8 spiral bound scrapbook/sketchbook that I got from Hobbycraft and thought would be the perfect size for such creativity.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with texture paste lately so added some in my handmade Tale as Old as Time stencil (that I made for my Disney Mixed Media) to start off and added some distress stains and home made sprays which were made using distress re-inkers, perfect pearls and some water all in a mini mister. Then I cut out a clock I had previously designed using my Cricut Gypsy, inked it, clear embossed it and covered it in some perfect pearls.I then created the clock hands with a technique that involves covering the card in a couple of layers black UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) stamping into it while it’s still melted and then covering it in some perfect pearls. I love this technique which I originally found on You Tube here.
I finished off by cutting the quote ‘Time goes by’ out with my Cricut Art Nouveau cartridge, stamped over the letters with perfect medium then dusted perfect pearls over the top and covered them in glossy accents!
And there it is the first of my word inspiration journal pages. Have you made any pieces inspired by the word Time?
